Date Night with the Seahawks and Mark Knopfler

September has been a busy month so far. Christopher and I started off the Labor Day Weekend early on Thursday night with the last pre-season football game at Century Link. We watched from the south end zone 9 rows up thanks to Christopher's cousin who makes the trip up for every home game from Southern Oregon! Lots of people dress up in this section like Mrs. and Mrs. Seahawk, Painted Seahawk and the guy next to us had a helmet with horns and a super thick chain wrapped around his neck. I even saw Norb Cam who filmed himself during last year's Green Bay game. It is so funny and awesome to watch it on Youtube.

Before the game, Christopher and I tried La Bodega, a Dominican restaurant that I pass every day on the bus to work. Christopher got the Puerco asado con chimichurri, repollo, y cebollitas (Slow-roasted marinated pork shoulder with chimichurri, shredded cabbage, pickled onions, and house aoili)

and I ordered the plate version. They get an A for food but a D for beer according to Christopher!
After our meal we headed to the game only to be informed that we couldn't take our backpacks into the stadium, ugh! Missed that memo! So we made a nice trek back to the car on a super full stomach to drop off our bags.  Next time bring a clear bag.....well for me there will be no next time because as fun as it was to experience the game live, i love watching on my sofa yelling at the tv!

We continued to have a relaxing weekend hanging out with my family for Autumn's 2nd birthday and made another outing for good food at the Top of Tacoma. Christopher said the Rueben was the best he'd ever had. I chose the Adobo marinated steak wrap which was pretty tasty. Will definitely go back on a Thursday for their half price tacos. We even crossed off Chick fil A from my restaurants "to try" list. I have been wanting to try their chicken sandwich and waffle fries for some time now. Yum!

Drum roll....and for our 2nd date night....we drove up to Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery in Woodinville for an evening with Mark Knopfler. Do you remember him? He was the front man for Dire Straits. I didn't leave work until 5:00 pm so our seating was pretty far back, but the show was pretty enjoyable. Next time I would leave earlier to be closer. Yeah for crazy creek chairs!

Oh Mark..I wish you would have talked more and told more stories. Christopher said he does all his talking thru the guitar which has a fun twang to it since he is a finger picker. I just wanted it to be a little more personal. My favorite song was Sultans of Swing!
September what else do you have in store? I am liking you so far :)
