"Montage of Heck"

A week ago, Christopher and I were driving home listening to the radio and the announcer says Montage of Heck will be showing at the Egyptian Theater during SIFF for one week only. I couldn't believe it. Montage of Heck is a documentary about Kurt Cobain which aired on HBO and I do not have HBO. I really wanted to see this movie. I mean really. I loved Nirvana back in 1989 when they released Bleach and remember getting the tape cassette and playing it over and over again. My friends and I would go see them play in warehouses to the Portland Ballroom.

After I graduated high school in 1991, I lived in West Hollywood for a short while. I saw Nirvana play at the Whiskey where they announced they would be making a video and invited us to all come. I couldn't believe my good luck that I would be able to do something like be in a Nirvana video.  I remember the first time I heard Smells Like Teen Spirit. You just couldn't get enough of it. For filming purposes, they played the song over and over and over again and I never tired of it. I remember how inclusive Krist Novoselic was. He went around and chatted with everyone in the parking lot as we waited. I will always remember that time in my life.

So here is last week waiting in line.

Thankful!

Birthday card for dad

My dad's birthday was a week ago and I made him this rock star card. I have some vintage lil davis stitched zig zag faux leather I adhered to the bottom. I am challenging myself to use something new and old on my cards. I think I am getting close to really purging my stash and have only what i love. It's crazy what I have amassed in 17 years!
Bathroom is still coming along. We now have sheet rock up, woot! This weekend shooting for new flooring.

Demo Day!

I have waited so long for Apil 11th come. Back in February, I purchased a bathroom vanity for our main bath remodel, but had to wait until our next kid free weekend for demo and installation. We used our kid free weekend in March for our annual beach hike so April it was.
 Goodbye little bath tub!
Goodbye nasty little vanity. I really did hate you. That lighting will go too. While Christopher gutted, I was his chief sweeper :) Over the weekend, we were able to install the new shower and pocket door. So thankful we were able to shower last night, whew! Hoping for new sheet rock this week. Photos to come.

Easter Weekend

I opted to stay in town Easter weekend while Christopher took the girls to Wenatchee to spend Easter with grandma Aloma. Saturday I drove out to Puyallup to watch Skylar's LaCrosse game. On the way, I stopped at this lady's house from Offer Up who grows and sells succulents. I spent more than I had planned, but she had some great arrangements. I was surprised that my dad had also made it out to the game as well. I took this funny cute photo. It looks like they are not interacting, but that was not the case. Seth and grandpa got along quite well. Seth is holding his new rocket launcher which he was using as a sword pretending to be a teenage mutant ninja turtle.

Here'a pic of Seth and Autumn running around.

On Sunday, I headed over to Linda and Donnie's for a family meal. Donnie whipped up a ham, asparagus, salad, mashed potatoes and rolls. Quite delicious and filling. Linda and Donnie made sure to get in some craft time with their kids and had them paint bird houses. Seth was so darn cute.
Happy Easter 2015!
