Godzilla & The Nisqually Delta

Doing better about getting out on the weekend and taking these legs for a walk. On Saturday, we drove to the Nisqually Delta and walked around 4 miles. We stopped for pizza at Olympia Old School Pizza and found a kid's festival to walk through. Those Olympians are so family oriented.
I liked this Godzilla sand scultpure and I think Christopher did too.

After our hike, we stopped by a farmer's market and I bought a box of Italian Plums....yum! Just like my grandma, I like to dehydrate them into dry chewy prunes! They taste like candy. Store bought prunes are the worst.

We didn't see much except frogs, heron, a turtle and snake!

Little Miss Autumn

(warning-photo heavy) I couldn't help take lots of photos of Miss Autumn.

She is such a bright little girl!

Recycled Wine Corks

So I said yesterday that DIY was off the calendar this year, but not to crafty DIYs! I scored a free bag of wine corks at work and knew exactly what I wanted to do with them.
I spray painted a 10x10 canvas gold then hot glued the wine corks down. Voila! I have an easy peasy jewelry holder.

I took all the leftover wine corks and filled this pretty blue jar with them.

Happy crafting!

a little bit of summer

The past two weekends, Christopher and I have had lazy weekends. Since DIY is off the calendar, we are trying to get out more and hike. On the 1st, we walked for an hour and half on the trails at Point Defiance and last Saturday we walked a little bit on Ruston Way and found this cool water spot at the Chinese Reconciliation Park.

I actually had to pick and pick to get Mr. Outdoor Enthusiast out the door! He seemed quite content lounging at home :)

Also, this year I found a packet of white pumpkin seeds at Carpinito Bros. and couldn't wait to plant them. I love the look of white pumpkins! Very untraditional compared to orange pumpkins.
They have taken off and it is likely I will have more pumpkins this year then last.

So fun to watch these grow!
